Possible = yes
Easy? No way.

The S-10 conversion kits are numerous and make the swap quite easy. I think Jegs offers one.

Dude, I have done MANY SBC S-10's and 5.0/302 Rangers.

THERE IS NOTHING EVER EASY about these swaps!!!

We used to pick these type of trucks up for $100 max in Maine(just over border of NH) as kids and make them into field beaters. What a blast racing them around my friends field and in the winter on the adjacent frozen pond.

That is laughable as a decent truck. I remember jumping things like this and the frame snapping or bending. Minor problems is relative to the condition of the entire truck.

Someone in my area is selling an 83 ranger with a cracked cylinder for $700. I was thinking that I could buy it and put some sealer and hopefully fix it. Any ideas?

Lol. First off, a sealer wouldn't fix it, only fixing it would fix it. Plus I sure haven't seen any "cracked cylinder wall repair in a can", at least not around here.

Is this whole thread a troll? I mean you did icon it with a clown.

Sorry, but a 1983 Ranger isn't worth $700 running let alone needing an engine. A sealer isn't going to do anything; going to need a new engine.

Head gasket problems, weak 5 speed transmissions.
