The best was Turkish Taffy,(you would slap it on a table to break it into pieces, it was also the dentists favorite), the worst were apples but in the candy realm it was candy corn.

I too forgot about those "circus peanuts" made of marshmallow.....unwrapped candy....EEewww, even back then.
Any lollypop was trash. The Charms Pop was the pinnacle but still bad.
There has to be a word for candies made of "odd stuff". Candy corn and Skittles fall into this category.

NOTES:
All gum was 'recycled' (given out) as we weren't allowed to chew.
Baby Ruth bars had to be surrendered to our dad.
"Rockets" are called "Smarties" south of the border.

100 grand was/is still always the highlight of the season for me...
I was shocked a few days ago, when, after i bought a bag of 100 grands, My GF had never had one...HOW?

worst... there was a guy in my town when i was growing up that gave out things like Pennies, and toothbrushes...
