Your Best and Worst MPG Car

All of my cars have been the worst. The two that tied for 1st place worst were my ‘70 (or ‘67) Jaguar e type and my ‘66 Shelby GT350 with vintage Paxton supercharger. Either one would get 7 or 8 mpg at top speed which was 140 mph for the jag and 135 mph for the Shelby.

Are those bad mpg numbers ?

My two '15 Golf TDI's return 40-50mpg summer and 30-40mpg winter consistently. Back in the day, early 1980's had a '71? 455 Buick for a few weeks that my room mate let me use while he was deployed. I parked it finally because I am thinkin' about 5mpg or so. Couldn't afford it on E4 pay. Horrendous.

Best my current 2012 Ford Fiesta with 5 speed manual, consistently gets 40+ mpg since new, my worst was a 1972 Ford Galaxy 500 w/351 Avg was 9-10 mpg. It was actually worse than my 2015 23' RV with a Chevy 6.0l that got 10-11 mpg.

Worst : My 66 Chevelle SS 396 I owned in High School IIRC about 12 MPG…but I constantly kept my foot in it. Sunoco 360 100 octane was 39 cents a gallon so…….
Best : My 85 Nissan Sentra IIRC about 35 MPG.

Those were the days, I remember pulling up to the pump and asking for $1 of regular, 28.9c/gal. Of course I was making 65c/hr as an usher in the local movie theater. It was sure a simpler time.

My best would be my current TSX aka "Sprucy the Car" which gets about 30 MPG in mixed driving.

I previously owned a 4th gen Camaro (also Sprucy) which would achieve around 19 MPG around town and mid 20's on the freeway. Not terrible but not great either.
