I was changing my oil on my c2500. It has a tbi 5.7 and my oil of choice is rotella t4 15w40. It's a good 40 weight oil and in ms it dosent get cold enough (often enough) to worry about the 15w.
My friend was with me and we were drinking beer and he proceeds to tell me that I'm a complete idiot for using this oil in a gas engine.
Well I've seen and heard of tons of people using this stuff in these older v8s. It's worked for a year now on this truck. (And my 79 bronco that I had, the pontiac fiero 2.5 I had).
He tells me that I should be using cheap gas oil in it. (The t4 is 16ish bucks a jug here at a local wally world in central ms)
And I use a fram tg or a wix. Depends if walmart has the tg or not.
Idk It rubbed me the wrong way when he said that.
What are you guys thoughts?
