Impact Wrench Wheel Sockets

I see impact wrench sockets for sale specifically for wheel nuts.

Are these any different to normal impact wrench sockets other than the rubber coating on the outside to prevent wheel scratching/damage?

I have some, plastic coated. Some people just wrap tape around regular impact sockets.

Mainly to prevent scratching nice rims. Some are .5mm larger to allow one to use it on a chrome plated acorn lug nut that has rusted.

Yes, a coating to prevent defacing the wheel, and sometimes they are thinner to fit in tight areas. My particular wheels don't need either so I've been doing fine for a long time with a plain old 19mm deep impact socket.
