has toyota back spec'd any 0-x oils? do 0-30 oils exist? or is that only a cold weather thing?

These products are all new every year?? They are a revolution!!! Razor blades, mens shirts, TVs, wiper blades, gutter guards, hearing aids... according to the ads. But also all new last year

Yes, they have back specced my Sienna (originally 5w30) to both 5w20 and 0w20. I can post/paste the chart that shows what year/make has what recommendation if you want.

Why would any one feel the need to back spec the oil to 0W-20?

I can't answer your question, but I can guarantee you that when I saw that Toyota had said I can run 0w20 in my van, it sure made it easier to pour in the m1HM 5w20 that I did this morning (my first fill with a 20 weight in the van).

Good info!

I think engines that are in excellent condition can run a good 0W-20 with no issues.

Toyota told me to run a synthetic 5w30 (PP or VV or M1) in my engine. Next choice is the Toyota house brand.
