I noticed this particular Motul earlier this week. (Are those "true" certifications or rather just a "meet and exceeds" list?)

To answer your question.. I think the most certs is Rotella 5w40

API: CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4 ACEA E9, JASO DH-2, Cummins CES 20086; Volvo
VDS-4.5; Detroit Fluid Specification DDC (DFS) 93K222, Caterpillar ECF-2/ECF-3, MAN
M3575, JASO MA/ MA2, Allison TES 439, MB-Approval 228.

I appreciate the post and it is my fault ie I should have been more specific ie most certifications which includes 502.

Yes, Rotella T6 5w40 and Mobil Delvac 1 5w40 is All American CK-4 big rig oil and they couldn't care less what the cheese eating Europeans run.

I could be wrong but the Motomaster just claims to meet the spec but doesn't actually have licenses from them. I think this was brought up before.

Even the Castrol 0w40 "meets the engine test requirements of" the specs.

It is not fees, they actually cannot get approval. Redline is prime example.

Any 5W30 does not have anything to do with Euro specifications.

The old "it meets the certs they just don't want to pay the fees" excuse has worn out its welcome.

The premise in this thread that you "have" to use a 5W-40 is silly. If you need a 502 00 oil, buy the cheapest actual 502 00 oil you can find and ignore the rest.

The JASO MA isnt a legit cert as far as i know..but they feel confident enough to list it.

The JASO certs that they list have created many thousands of pages of discussions all over the web from road bikes to offroad atv/utv etc etc.

The Allison TES 439 cert isnt legit as far as i know either. According to Allison T3 and T4 are but T6 is not listed whereas DELO 5w40 is.

So in summary- I dont really go by certs. I usually go with Rotella due to their robust add packs low cost and availability.

What this has to do with Euro oils? Isn't there heavy duty diesel oil subforum?
While T6 is good oil, it is not as sophisticated as oils that meet MB229.5/51 etc. It is made for different application.

PP Euro LX has HTHS of 3.5 and higher. Not really comparable to PP 5W30 ACEA A5.

Favorite A3/B4 5W-40 with euro OEM approvals goes to Pennzoil Platinum Euro. If it's good enough for Ferrari....

But at $10 a quart someone needs to make the case it is twice as good as Castrol 0W-40

$32.99 for 5 quarts and you choose your filter at AAP.

I got 10 quarts and 2 K&N filters for less than $70.
