Neither. I resigned my position and was properly persuaded to stay with the flight department and move to another state.
The fact is, I could retire now, I don't because I absolutely love what I do. I'm enamored with the fine equipment and flying fun.

Well, you're very fortunate in that regard.
Few of us find a vocation that's enjoyable enough to delay retirement, much less move to the land of lousy winters simply because we enjoy the job so much.
