Highest VI 0W oils?

Toyota's 0w-20 is somewhere around 220.
Valvoline's SYNPower is 170. Those are the only 2 I know. I'm an oil specs slacker. Sigh.

I thought RP 0W-20 was pretty high for their SN formulation, something like 177. I could be wrong.

ENEOS Sustina 0W-20 has a Viscosity Index of 229! Ding, Ding, Ding - I think we have a winner!

The RLI (Renewable Lubricants Inc.) 0W-30 is a 193 V.I., and Red Line's 0W-40 is at 190 (used to be 197!).
Supposedly, RLI will blend a 0W-40 for you with however high a V.I. you desire (and can afford to pay for).

The only higher V.I. 0W-30s/0W-40s I've ever heard of are those Swedish racing brews I forgot the name of, but CATERHAM knows, and I'm sure will tell us when he comes into this thread.

Depends on whether or not you believe their datasheet. The 0w50 I tested came back about 10-15% under the published spec, and IIRC the 0w20 was off by quite a bit too.

First welcome to BITOG!

I wasn't aware that G-Oil was making a 0W-20 and 0W-30 but I see it has been posted on before.
So G-Oil 0W-20 would be another choice to add to the list of high VI 0W-20s assuming it's actually available. These include Sustina (VI 229) TGMO (216 VI) Mazda Moly (221 VI) SynGard (220 VI) and now maybe G-Oil (220 VI).

G-Oil two-stroke oil is carried by Cdn Tire but none of their other products. Even if we convinced Cdn Tire to bring in their motor oil you know it's going to be double the US price so why bother.

We've got TGMO 0W-20 for a great price and Delvac 1 ESP 0W-40 (VI 186) not to mention some other high VI HDEOs they don't even get States side so we don't have too much to complain about.

For 0W30, I would say RLI is up there in the race.
