4 cyl turbo, I couldn't believe it. It was still pulling, but was getting to be a handful so I backed off.
Don't bother sending the ticket in the mail, it was on federal land!

You think thats a big deal got my saturn vue 2.4 n/a engine up to 135 ! KPH that is
lol.gif

I had a 2004 Crossfire which was basically a Mercedes with Chrysler badges. The Normally aspirated 3.2L V6 was electronically limited to 150 MPH and the supercharged version 160MPH. I had mine up to 140, once. Ran out of nerve. This was on a traffic free, wide open stretch of Wyoming countryside. I wouldn't recommend it anywhere else and I was only one Antelope away from death.

I saw similar speeds in my Mazdaspeed 3 on the track(and once on the interstate, playing with a Ram SRT-10, just hypothetically, of course).

Just think that the vehicle was designed to run at that speed for hours.

Gimme a break, you were in a car. I've done 155MPH on my CBR1000RR. THAT surely would've been death.

When my wife first started driving BMWs she ended up using the cruise control constantly because the car always seemed to be going 20-30 mph faster than she thought it was. Even the M42 in my Club Sport will cruise right along at 100+, spinning at 5,000 rpm.

That's one cool bike! I only had my Harley up to 115, and that was enough for me. When the telephone pole started going past like guard rail post, I was done. I think my 1982 KZ550 will prob break 100 mph, but I'm not that guy anymore. Things happen way too fast!

Yeah, all the "attractions" on the federal lands were closed (even the beaches in Brevard) so I didn't even see another car the whole trip.
Wouldn't have attempted it otherwise.

Wow, that's pretty good for a 4 cylinder.

I've had my Genesis up to 135, but I was running out of road so I had to back off. It had plenty more to go.

I've noticed many drivers are moving VERY quickly as a result of recent events and it's effect on traffic.
I'm surprised there aren't more cops issuing tickets, given the massive amount of income they could generate.

It's literally a free-for-all on the roads now, but the accidents (when they occur) are far more severe.

The big W126, the 420SEL, was like that too; and I've noticed that my '16 Buick LaCrosse gives that same impression. I think I'm doing 55, look down, oops! 75!

Anyone here remember when speedometers only went up to 85mph and 55mph had a square drawn around it

I don't have the square, but my Jeep's only goes to 85

I've had it to 90, maybe 95 before.

The brainstorm of '70s NHTSA Nazi Joan Claybrook- a perfect example of a moronic Federal regulation that accomplished absolutely nothing. As I mentioned on another topic, I only owned one car cursed with that moronic instrument- my 1979 Arrow GT 2.6. When I drove from Louisville to Cincinnati to visit my girlfriend(and now wife) a first generation Escort and a CB allowed to drive most of I-71 with the speedometer needle pointing at six o'clock.

We always called that "burying the needle" haha!

I remember when speedometers were marked at 55.

I figure it this way, if I'm gonna be a fool, this is the kind of fool I want to be! I just never expected this kind of performance from a 4 cyl. I even told the salesman "I'm going to miss that V6 in my old E350" he replied, "No, you won't".
He was right. I'm not even talking AMG anything here, just a plain old 4 door sedan. Well not really too plain, with air suspension and all, but still, not a performance vehicle by any means.
