Dexos Oil

Thanks kschachn, it's probably only the viscosity that doesn't meet dexos.
This begs the question... do you have more information? Anything besides "that particular oil does not meet all the dexos requirements"?

Yeah, a Dexos1 oil needs to be a 0W-X or a 5W-Y oil for cold starting ability in a diverse climate range across North America. So a great 10W30 that would pass all Dexos1 quality test, still would not be allowed to carry the Dexos1 cert just because GM require a minimum cold starting ability.

A synthetic 10W30 would be a shear stable, low Noack volatility oil, with or without Dexos on the label.
