What has been added to the oil to make it CI-4+ rated? What are the exact spec's that must be over come to get the "+" rateing? I know it has something to do with soot but that is about it!

In addition, it was almost a different kind of soot, one that thickened the oil much more rapidly. “So we needed to adjust the oil to handle what was happening out in the field,” he adds."
I remember Terry mentioning things to this same effect. Don't know if Terry's comments had this in mind, but it does seem to echo the quote above in regards to certain diesel engines and soot problems.
