And sold their tool name off to the highest bidder and subsequently all manufacturing went to China. That's old news though.
Proto is part of Stanley Black & Decker. Funny thing is Stanley was once a good brand but they relegated it to cheap Chinese crap status and left Proto as their premium product. In Europe the Proto name is almost unheard of so many tools that are sold in the US as Proto in Europe are carrying the still decent Stanley name.

THAT 'Stanley' may B an entirely different one than the former tool co.
Mac'n SnapOn for me (try'n get a lill competition between them) as the
life time guarantee & delivery. Altho snapon is not showin up as much as
