Why do you watch the Super Bowl?

I'm a huge NFL fan. Biggest and best structured sports league in the world. I usually go for AFC teams, so go Chiefs!

Solely an excuse to get together with friends as we host the group's party. Game, what game? Same for the commercials and show as half time is when I restock the bar and fire the grill up again.

Why? to watch a game, although the commercials can be pretty funny. Usually skip halftime as its some entertainer who i am not interested in.

Usually though I miss the game as I don’t follow sports. I don’t even know when this years game is.

Btw every team I rooted for and watched once my team was out, lost. But I can’t possibly be that influential so don’t worry Niners fans…..

Amen. Board a plane from Boston* to Denver in a couple hours - don’t care that I am missing this thing - just glad of a very good fare because demand was low.

*After a weekend with my daughter, who is in school in Boston.

The Superbowl has devolved into a very crappy musical concert sandwiched in between two halves of anticlimactic football game.

Bread and circuses like many things today. No thanks.

We're not fans for the players philosophical thoughts or their stance on the environment. We're fans because we love the action and the game itself. Besides, so many are involved in and give back to their respective communities.
That's why the NFL has the Walter Peyton "Man of the Year" award because of certain players service to the community and charities
They do some very worthwhile work.

I guess you haven't watched in a long, long while. Just last year Chiefs vs Eagles 38-35 was decided in the last few seconds. In fact there haven't been too many lousy games at all in the last 15 years.

For entertainment. My wife and I aren't big professional sports fans, but we started watching the Super bowl a few years ago. It is the only game we watch all year. My brother-in-law is cheering for the Chiefs. My daughter's boyfriend is cheering for the 49ers.
