What options do you think all vehicles should have?

  • A/C that's competent enough to handle Phoenix
  • Cruise Control
  • Be comfortable for tall people
  • Decent Stereo

I'm taking the question literally, to mean items that ideally would not be standard or required by law, but available at additional cost.

Automagic transmission
Air conditioning
ABS
Traction Control
Stability Control
Power windows
Power steering (except required in heavy vehicles)
Power brakes (except required in heavy vehicles)
Power door locks
Stupid-wide tires & wheels
Alternate engine(s)
Upgraded suspension
Cruise control
Block heater
Full-size spare tire
Audio beyond basic radio
Cargo mat
Start-stop system
Built-in 120 VAC inverter

I could eventually think of many more.

Those little orange balls that people put on their antenna to find them in a carpark...every car should have one of those.

(LOL, and the antenna too now)

Tailgate warning systems that blare so loud in the cabin that "stupid" can't ignore it.

And a "[censored] is wrong with me anyhow" sign that lights on the rear trunk lid.

On every car

Mandatory options for me:

Back up camera with cross traffic alert.
Blind spot monitor.
Push button start.
Adaptive cruise control.

No need for factory navigation these days.

Sweet!

To me some are just a given: auto trans, pw, ps, pl, air, radio w/cd player.

CD player went the way of the 8 track and cassette player, my car doesn't even have one and I don't want it! I still own a few CDs and the only way I can play them is with a USB DVD drive plugged into my laptop!

It does have cooled seats which should be mandatory.

Sounds good to me. I can drive badly if I need to.

Here there'd be an awful lot of tough-to-beat competition for that one remaining Datsun, though
