Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

2007 chevy classic w/t 4.3 V6. Got 196,000 miles on it. No major issues. Just the interior starting to fall apart. 10k oil changes using mostly M1 HM 10/30 but the past 4 oil changes I get what ever is on sale/rebate. Hope to get another 50k out of it.

My '01 F150 SCAB is running fine at 157,000 miles. Last 3 OC's were with 5W30 Castrol GTX HM, syn blend.

It has been excellent for the 4.6 V8 engine. The HM has stopped a slow drip under oil pan.

I see all these super high mileage cars (to me that's over 250k) and most are from warm climates. It's tough here to keep a car that long as they really suffer in winter. I do work with a guy that has a 2004ish Toyota Sequoia with something like 325k on the 4.7 V8. He just does conventional changes every 3500. Runs like a top.

That's why you vacation out west and buy nice, rust free used cars and trucks

My toyota truck gets maybe 3-5k a year now and that is just because I make an effort to drive it, almost feels like I should sell it but it is so dead beat reliable and I will need a truck again in a few years.

2003 Saturn LW-200 2.2 Ecotec, 206K miles. Almost always full synthetic, & per the manual, I stick to something with the API starburst logo, 5W30, so usually Mobil 1 or Mobil Super, or lately Castrol Edge, previous changes have also included Valvoline or Pennzoil, if Advance Auto Parts had a good deal.
Lately, local Home Depot sells some motor oil. Interval is usually 4K-5K miles. I almost always use Delco PF457G (the one sold at AAP is the one I look for, made by Hengst, the package sold at Walmart is not a Hengst, looks different).
The engine runs well, and the timing chain is not noisy. Some of the early L series w/Ecotec had a smaller oiler for the timing gear, and occasional timing chain failure.

Why change it every 6 months then? That's kind of wasteful. If you put less than 1,000 miles on it per year, you could just change the oil every other year.

New member here -

2003 Mercury Marauder, #147
209k, purchased with 174k.

I drive this thing HARD, and she came from a knowledgeable guy that new he had a special car. Rev's to 6k like nothing, I can still chirp the tires on the stock 1-2 upshift.

Up until about 200k, I was running Amsoil 5w40 Euro, switched to Amsoil 5w30 full syn around 200k. Just changed the other day, almost no oil usage and looked clean as could be. Minnesota car that's driven year round and has never failed to get me where I'm going. Gotta love factory posi!

I've done very little to it in the time I've had it. Trans failed around 180k, it was a poorly "built" unit that was junk. Replaced with a 40k mile correct Marauder unit that I somehow got for $200. Still shifts flawlessly. Besides that, the idler and tensioner have been replaced, an O2 sensor, the A/C accumulator, and the blower motor resistor. One upper ball joint. Oh, and several 40 series tires eaten by Minneapolis potholes.

I have a 2004 sonata with the 3.7 l motor
spark plugs and oil changes with a timing belt evey 70 k
1 set of lifters . and a radiator

just turned 281000 at the service last week

1996 Mercury Villager, 238600 miles. The van belonged to my F-I-L. He gave it to my daughter for a college car. Pretty sure that it was Havoline conventional and Fram filter every 3k miles. Still runs good and good MPG, 3.0 V6

Same here, I drive it for a week then switch to our 2014 Tacoma. I rotate it every other week. I have people follow me off the freeway then up to my street at home asking if I wanted to sell it so we keep it in the garage every night.

When it reaches 300,000 miles I'll either rebuild the engine myself or buy a crate engine from 22RE Performance.

I have a 2007 Tahoe with 237,000. I have owned it for 205,000 of that. Change oil every 3,000-3,500 used Valvoline 5-30 until about 150,000 and started using V-High Mileage with either PurOne or Wix filters. It used a quart every 500-750 miles until I bought Range AFM unit 6 months ago and the oil consumption has dropped to .5 quart between changes.

1990 Model Year Miata (Build Date January 1990) with 394,000 Km [244,820 miles]. Mobil1 0W-40. My daily driver, the engine sees redline regularly. Drive-It-Like-You-Stole-It 25 miles per USGallon, City, Highway, wherever. Apparently you can get 35 or so miles out of these motors Highway MPG, but I've never tried.

1997 Oldsmobile 88 - 228k, did head and intake gaskets last winter, other than that nothing. The rust will take this car off the road before the engine goes.

2005 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. 192,000 miles. I drove it the 1st 120,000 miles and then gave it to my youngest son just before he turned 16, six years ago. I used a 10,000 miles OCI and Mobil1. With his normal driving routine being somewhat different than mine he dropped back to a 5000 OCI, still with Mobil1. Great vehicle. I had Blackstone do an oil analysis once while I was driving it and their note said something like...."try 12,000 miles next change. Toyota got it right with the 4.7"

I have to agree.

My daughter's 1997 Toyota 4Runner.. Currently has 284k miles on it. I got it with 255k on it. It was abused in past life with 10k + oil changes with conventional and OCOD. That being said it still runs great, burns no oil between changes. I use Quaker State HM 5-30 with a Fram TG filter (I got a bunch of them at a Walmart clearance sale for $3/ ea).. I change every 4k.

My other daughter has a 2002 Toyota 4Runner with 181k on it. It also burns no oil between changes and I either use Havoline 5-30 or QS HM 5-30 with a Fram TG and change it every 4-5K.

Love 4Runners as they are bulletproof! My wife has a 2015 4runner that we do 10k oil changes on with TGMO and Toyota filter (has 56k on it now, uses no oil between changes)
I have a Lexus ES350 that I use Mobil One EP 5-30 and a premium filter (usually Mobil One or Toyota) and 10k changes --this car has 33k on it and uses no oil between changes.

2010 Chrysler Sebring Touring with the 2.4L VVT angine. I have 157,970 miles on it and she still runs great. I do my OCI at 6k-6.5k and the level doesn't even drop halfay between the add and full line. It's been good reliable car that's seen many trips from Ohio to Myrtle Beach.

L8R,
Matt
