78hp is fine, once up to speed.
Now navigating a cloverleaf at rush hour? Thankfully I don't have to do that often, but it has gotten easier with my fast new Corolla. My '99 Camry must have lost some ponies, it does not get up to speed like this new car (CVT for the win? can't be).
But most of the time, yes 78hp would be enough. But it'd be nice to have a reduction in NVH.
