The employee's homes are under water. Who's gonna work there? Those people have bigger fish to fry than go work at Home Depot.

^^^ No storm drain system is designed to take a foot of rain a day for 5 consecutive days, no matter what the system drains into.

Texas state law allows enhanced punishments, including the possibility of life sentences for thieves arrested for breaking into homes during disasters.

Nice - we have those - but I know a secret - they feed a system like this: creek>>river >>bay>>ocean.

The rivers have been coming out of the banks around our small towns etc - I did see one (brightly painted) Storm Chaser news SUV have a look - but since my area is low population they had nothing exciting to report and moved on ...

Exactly. No storm drains can handle 50 inches of rain in a couple of days.

here and even more in tx the authorities would not get the chance to prosecute.lots of time and taxpayers $ saved.
home invasion=instant death sentence on the spot.
all they would need to do is pick up the corpse and tie the tag on the big toe.
only the deranged or retarded would take that risk.more chlorine in the gene pool...

I'm sure enough of them really can't do much until the water recedes.

California doesn't have to worry about flooding. When it rains, the mud slides simply wipe everything off the face of the earth...
