Not 100% certain on this, but I think the more accurate statement here is "assembled in the US". I believe that a lot of the components are sourced "globally".

Thankfully dryers have remained relatively simple. Ours is similar in age to yours and I've replaced the belt 2-3 times. It's a super common belt that Lowes, etc stock and before I knew I could get it there, the appliance parts store has them hanging right behind where the counter guys stand because they're so common. Less than $10. I did have to replace the fusible link a long time ago. I bought a 'kit' that included two links (one for electric, one for gas) and a heating element. I still have the heating element, just in case I need it one day.
