Post your latest oil change

Over 8,000 miles on the oil filter and you didn’t change it? Why?
The 15w40 has to go before the cold weather hits in November. Full delete, the oil was still golden after 8.000 miles. I'll do the ful meal deal with 5w40 in about 4,000 miles. The last uoa showed 6ppm Fe after 16,000 kms. (10k miles). Sometimes used filters do a better job than new ones.

80,502 miles
OCI: 8,079 miles and 10 months

Out: Napa 0w-20 synthetic, Toyota cartridge filter
In: Castrol Magnatec 0w-20 synthetic, Toyota cartridge filter

Note: I had a PITA removing the drain plug washer I had installed last OC. It was a 1990's Toyota fiber washer that seemed to weld itself onto the drain plug. I had to cut it off with a utility knife, and replaced it with the new style Toyota washer.

Made the change about a month back at 77,300 miles. Took out an unknown oil and filter (bought the car used) and replaced with 3 quarts 0w-20 Edge EP + 2 quarts 5w-30 Edge EP and a Mobil 1 MC1-251a filter. This'll probably be changed at the end of the year and then I'll go with once a year changes ... generally drive about 4K per year.

May stay with Edge or move to Mobil 1 EP ... been using M1 in other cars, but I got a good deal on the Edge and I knew it was going to be in the sump but a short while ... just wanted to clean out whatever was in there before.

Only thing I hate is that the 74-76mm wrench I got from walmart for my Trailblazer doesn't want to let go of the grippy paint on the filters, when I took the ph3506 off that the previous owner put on I had to beat the crap out of the can and bend it to get it out of the wrench.

Yeah I'm not impressed with the"grippy paint" myself on the Ultra oil filter.

If Rock Auto ever gets a bunch of FPS3675 or FPS9837 filters in stock I'll buy a bunch of them so I don't have to deal with the annoying grippy paint.

It took me one time of being underneath a vehicle, having to jam a screwdriver into the filter, and dirty oil all over to completely decide to never run a Fram Ultra again. 😆 I've since switched to Purolator Boss.

I don’t think an Ultra was designed for this use case

2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. 157K on clock. Only a 4,000 mile OCI in 9 months (COVID....)

Out: Havoline Pro DS full synthetic 5W-20 and a COS3593A Champion Filter

In: Same

Also had a check engine light and ABS/traction control light. Check engine light was a P200A. The MCV Runner motor bad (shaft broke, typical of this model after 150K.) ABS was a bad sensor and hub assembly. All fixed.

1997 Saab 9000 Turbo with 355K miles, changed oil today with SuperTech 10W30 "High Mileage" synthetic and Mann oil filter, same as last time. Engine used about 1/2 quart in 5000 miles. (Mostly small drips. Engines in these cars are based on a 1960s Triumph design and they like to mark their territory. ;))

2012 Hyundai Accent GLS (GF4D GAMMA engine)
109,000 miles / 4000 mile OCI

Out: Valvoline Synthetic Maxlife 0w20

In: Valvoline Synthetic Maxlife 0w20 x3 quarts + ½ quart of RT6 5w30 MV

Oil filter: Fram TITANIUM 9688 staying on for OCI #2

Assessment: Engine was making a lot of noise prior to oil change, was the same leading up to previous change as well. Oil came out completely black and I am thinking that the buildup of carbon soot in the oil is causing or at least contributing to the gradual increase in engine noise as the OCI goes on.

2007 Acura TSX, Mighty K24, 99K miles, 5K OCI
Out: Valvoline Syn 5w30
In: Halvoline Syn Box 5w30 (thanks Critic); left M1 110 filter

MityVac sucked that stuff out and kept my hands clean!
About 1 quart make up oil added.

This car was serviced at Quickie Lubes using Semi Syn I believe, before I got it at about 85K miles.
My sister and BIL bought it new and gave it to me a year ago. I gave it to a friend.
Out 200K TSX does not burn a drop. I have used mostly M1 5w30 in our car.

I service 2 2007s and wifey's 2006. These are great cars.
