The 15w40 has to go before the cold weather hits in November. Full delete, the oil was still golden after 8.000 miles. I'll do the ful meal deal with 5w40 in about 4,000 miles. The last uoa showed 6ppm Fe after 16,000 kms. (10k miles). Sometimes used filters do a better job than new ones.Over 8,000 miles on the oil filter and you didn’t change it? Why?
Only thing I hate is that the 74-76mm wrench I got from walmart for my Trailblazer doesn't want to let go of the grippy paint on the filters, when I took the ph3506 off that the previous owner put on I had to beat the crap out of the can and bend it to get it out of the wrench.
If Rock Auto ever gets a bunch of FPS3675 or FPS9837 filters in stock I'll buy a bunch of them so I don't have to deal with the annoying grippy paint.Yeah I'm not impressed with the"grippy paint" myself on the Ultra oil filter.

I don’t think an Ultra was designed for this use caseIt took me one time of being underneath a vehicle, having to jam a screwdriver into the filter, and dirty oil all over to completely decide to never run a Fram Ultra again. I've since switched to Purolator Boss.
RazorsEdge, have you noticed that Fram FPS filters don't seem to be around much now?It took me one time of being underneath a vehicle, having to jam a screwdriver into the filter, and dirty oil all over to completely decide to never run a Fram Ultra again. I've since switched to Purolator Boss.
