Recently took delivery of my wife's new 2023 Lincoln Corsair equipped with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine. Looking through the owner's manual, I find that the recommended oil filter is a Motorcraft FL-2127. See snip from owners manual below.

Not that I need one right away, but I can't find a reference to this FL-2127 filter anywhere! Is this a brand-new filter introduced for 2023 engines?

The 1 note reference is pretty wild. You spend all that money on a new rig & can't source a filter. This is no fault of your own. Have you went to your local Ford parts dealer?

The OE number out of the Lincoln catalog is BE8Z6731AB, which is a Ford number for the FL910S.

Wix cross reference is to a 51348 which is typically a Motorcraft FL-910S. Wonder what’s up with the new number, expanding their offering lineup maybe?

Per @Zee09 post above, it sounds like a cartridge filter element and O-ring. 🤷‍♂️

It's a bespoke Lincoln filter. Comes in a nicer box wrapped in linen.

I kid....really Ford, you just can't call it a 910S and be done with it?

I appreciate all the replies. I always thought the 2.0 EcoBoost has always used a FL-910S filter, but I decided to check the Lincoln owners manual just in case they changed it for the 2023 model year. I had also considered they may have transitioned to a cartridge-style filter.

Apparently, the new FL-2127 filter is simply a re-numbered FL-910S, but I'll check with the parts department to be certain.

Thanks again for your counsel and guidance.

Yes ... there was a thread a while back that showed a PDF of how Motorcraft bumped all the filter numbers. I think the new ones are eCore design if I recall correctly.

Typically the Ford 2.0 takes an FL 910-S as many of us know. The new FL2127 is the same size as the 910, but will not fit the 2023 models. I had the first one come in the Ford dealership and had no idea of the new filter. I hate the idea of using after market filters on any engine so I had to find a motor craft to fit. An FL 500-S is a bit larger but fits great.

The FL910s and the FL2127 are the same size, but different thread size. FL500S is a great substitute until the 2127 is more readily available.

So far the only numbers I’ve seen at Ford was the FL2051 change to FL2124 and now the new filter FL2127. The FL2062 dose have a new replacement for the mustang GT FL2087 I think. It just has a metal core to keep it from collapsing under the high pressure.

I received these 2 FL2127 from Wholesale Ford Parts Fast today. These still have the Purolator base plate and top bypass valve. One of these will be for new 23 Escape first oil change.
