2011 Audi we borrowed from cousins while we're out here in Cali. Interesting ride... speedo goes to 185 I wonder how close it would get to that And no I won't find out!
I was pretty upset after leaving a few more hundred dollars at Lowe's , but a random Diahatsu HiJet appeared at Lowe's parking lot and raised my spirits.
Long Live the Kei cars/vans/trucks!
Finally declaring mission accomplished on the old Bimmer, at least the interior. The car started mostly original, a time warp, and I've worked to get as close as possible to original or period correct. Located a more 70's appearing horn push and surround for the NOS accessory wood wheel and installed an old shift pattern emblem in place of the water slide type decal that should be there, but was lost when I reskinned the dash. Final touches are touching up all the panel lettering and replacing the modern door speaker grills w/ '70's items courtesy of eBay. Only interior item left to address is a true vintage radio, but this Conti isn't too out of place for the time being. Modern, flashy audio in classics is a pet peeve.
I would have preferred to keep the original steering wheel, but the horn buttons were inop and not really repairable, so I sourced the NOS wood one you see from Europe. Also, that slight wrinkle on the dash gnaws at me, but is hardly noticeable in person and under normal light.
Here’s my 05’ Xterra with 200k after a touch less wash. I’m a shop porter and wash cars after they’ve been worked on. Most of the pictures are from my old shop, the new shop is a one of kind. You can see part of the building with my Xterra in it.
Waiting for the new build to be done,it’s a hands on since my vette guy is a one man operation and I jump when called.I should have done more research on wide body kits. The intake is a LME LS7 with dual injector bungs.
