Imageshack basic is like $37.99 a year. It was cheaper before, but that's still acceptable. It looked like a cheesy cash grab before, but it's looking very nice on comparison to Photobucket now. Imageshack does have higher options for big bandwidth usage, but that's another matter.

I have always used Tinypic, which is owned by Photobucket. All of my photos are still up from years back, weird.
Shhh, not so loud, or that might hear you and take notice.
Eff Photobucket. They can stuff it.
Personally I think a very small hit per month like 50 loads per image is quite fair and then report ask user for money.
If I were a competitor with reasonable costs I'd build an import tool photobucket>tool and drum up business.

I luckily have a Flickr account, which is way better.
