I'm trying to figure out what it is and how it works. Are those just twisted rolls of foil or are they permanently attached? Also, does this air box have dirty air entering from the bottom and clean air leaving from the top, like my Honda?

I believed in the K&N myth back in 1999. I genuinely believed it would give me 2-5 HP more, and the dirtier the filter got, the better the filtration became. Isn’t this the concept of a dryer lint filter?
When my mpgs started to go down, I didn’t want to believe I had been taken. So I cleaned and reoiled another 3 years, before throwing the filter and cleaner and oil away.
