I have a 7.3 truck with around 150k. I bought it from the original owner and have been fixing it up. I added a FS2500 bypass filter and added Amsoil 15w40 HD diesel and marine oil. After 9k miles I sent in a sample to Blackstone and it showed positive for coolant with 33 ppm potassium, 16ppm sodium and 12ppm copper and 14ppm lead. I pulled the oil cooler which is the most likely source and am pulling the water pump to see if any cavitation caused holes in the front plate. I have also been told that injector cups can be leaking too but I will wait on that. Once I get it together I plan on running regular oil for 1k with new bypass and full flow filters then chaning oil and filters and running for a couple thousand then changing one more time and sampling, Is there any kind of flush to remove contaminants? Those ppm levels are so minute that I figured dilution would work. I sampled through the dipstick and wish I would have off the outlet of the bypass filter.
Any advice on what else to do?
