That’s an excellent point - this airplane flies in the most dangerous environments - over the water, in mountainous terrain, at night, in combat, landing on ships at sea, and at unprepared sites.
Any honest safety comparison would have to remove the operating environment variables, nearly all negatives, in the comparison.
