Off the Ford. A little over 3000 miles. Date code A30381

How does it look?

Marks are from filter pliers getting it off the engine

EDIT: @StumblingElk 2nd cousin to the UOAs and VOAs 🤣🤣🤣

@Brian123 Thank you!

@Dave Hess Why such little miles?..

1. Cars/engines and me don't usually get along.
2. I bought the filter cutter not to be admired.
3. This filter is gonna take me to umm Pittsburgh 😁
4. Engine health check on the Taurus. It's not a spring chicken anymore and I don't really Iike the car until someone puts more than it is maybe "worth" into it for a thermistor and AC line. Might be a BITOG Special once I inherit it....... (it's a good car but I don't roll with no AC.)
5. Good ol' fashioned OCD.
6. New Fram Titanium!

Honest question and not being a smart alec.
I don't understand why people post these photos of oil filters. How would I be able to discern much with the naked eye except for a defect or complete failure.

All of these photos basically look thr same to me.

Many on here like 2 c these kind of photos. and the OP has put in the work 2 cut the oil filter open and post pics. It is what it is, eye Candy, but we just need to let members post pics of there cut open oil filters and not ask why they are doing it.

Looks good, but why such little miles ?
I was going to ask the same question. I'd leave it on for more OCIs especially if an oil change is being done every 3K/3 months which seems to be the case.

Am I correct in that this oil filter was made in 2023 and this is the newer style, meaning it is not Wire Backed?

Not to change subject, family member just hit 50K miles on a Fram Ultra filter.
Will send to Adam @ 80K miles.

I feel bad seeing FU filters cut open with very low miles, they can go long distances if air filtration is very good.

This Fram looks like it is a fairly tall filter & was doing its job for the 3k miles. These are one of my favorite topics to see! There will be several good reasons to post these pics up for all to see here. That's how we learn! Thanks for sharing this filter!

I know that looks mean very little but I much prefer the older Fram Ultra's with the thicker (pinkish) filter media.
These newer FUs don't look much different than many other filters on the market. I guess I'd have to buy the
Fram Endurance to get something that is similar to the original FU.
