The Mopar MS-13340 oil is no more than a typical ILSAC 30 grade, HTHS is well below 3.5. Not what I would choose for that engine either, however warranty protection is critical with an Alfa.

I have a similar car and engine, with similar oil requirements. I'm running my left over A3/B4 0w-30 in it now, and got 10W-30 ready to go in (VII free ester oil)
The oil specifications for this engine is 9.55535.GS1, which the Pennzoil Euro LX 0W-30 I listed meets. The M1 ESP 0W-30 doesn't meet it, however, it's a very good oil and I would use it without hesitation. Using oil that meets the spec is more about warranty than anything else. I doubt that most dealers cary the correct oil for this vehicle, that's why they list MS-13340 as the oil to use, because FCA dealers understand MOPAR.
Same goes for Alpha...beautiful Alfa Romeo...calling it a Romero might get you kicked off the Alfa Forum...we get it that you're excited about your new purchase...and you should be...enjoy that ride!

Right. It was Cesar Romero in Hollywood, but it's Alfa Romeo in automobiles. Mine was a 1987 Spider Veloce. OP, good luck with your new car!beautiful Alfa Romeo...calling it a Romero might get you kicked off the Alfa Forum
