Any opinions on doing a CLP piston soak?

I have an old '87 2 cyl B&S that needs lots of help. I've been reading up on the various piston soaks here and I thought I might try CLP since it comes out in such a nice foam.

Any reason not to try this? Dump the oil or keep it?
What problems might I look out for?

Thanks!

I think CLP is too expensive to waste on a piston soak. I would use a strong solvent like B12 wich cost next to nothing compared to CLP. I also wounder how well CLP would work on a piston. Break-Free CLP was designed for uncle sam to keep anadozied, nickle seal coat, aluminum M16's with chrome lined bores clean. It is not hard to clean a chrome lined chamber and barrel!!! I also think that CLP is water based so it might not do much for hard carbon and varnis in riong pack area.

I am sure that the CLP will not hurt anything I just do not think itis the best choice for this job!

CLP is definately not water based. It would work but it is expensive at around a dollar an ounce.
