What is it now?Didn’t check. This was a fly by the seat of my pants move!

i also believe the hot piston soak cured the oil burning in our accordI’m glad to report that the oil level is still at the full line and still very clean looking. Normally by now I’ve added at least a quart and it would be dark black.
Just under 500 miles and just over a week of driving. I was adding a quart every week before, so this is a major improvement!Miles driven since piston soak?
i may have missed it, but you should really dump some HPL EC30 in it to keep cleaning the ring pack. you’ve opened them up enough now that oil should be able to get in there and with the EC30 if should clean them the rest of the way.Checked it today and added oil to bring it back to the full mark. It took right at 1/4 of a quart. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and I was burning 1 quart a week. I can say for sure this did something! Now, how long before I have to do it again?? Either way, I'm pretty happy with the results!
I did 3 different EC30 cleanings on it before this over the last year or so. I still have a quart left, I may try it next time.i may have missed it, but you should really dump some HPL EC30 in it to keep cleaning the ring pack. you’ve opened them up enough now that oil should be able to get in there and with the EC30 if should clean them the rest of the way.
i would because the rings may be opened up just enough to let the EC finish the job.I did 3 different EC30 cleanings on it before this over the last year or so. I still have a quart left, I may try it next time.
Seems like the piston soak did far better then the EC 30. Another piston soak would be better move I would think.I did 3 different EC30 cleanings on it before this over the last year or so. I still have a quart left, I may try it next time.
My Scion burned over a quart in 300 miles when I bought it. A piston soak improved that to about 1000. A second soak with two full bottles of B12 improved it to the point where I don’t add any oil between changes.Seems like the piston soak did far better then the EC 30. Another piston soak would be better move I would think.
20w50 to mask itYes, If the walls are scored from fuel washing off the oil, then nothing will work. Can't repair worn cylinder walls.
I'd go for something more cost effective, yet effective.....I did 3 different EC30 cleanings on it before this over the last year or so. I still have a quart left, I may try it next time.
In my experience Rislone is not potent enough to open rings. Does good with ticking lifters.I'd go for something more cost effective, yet effective.....
Rislone......mmo....gumout multi.
That is quite the difference. Are these motors good candidates for mixing 2 stroke TCW3 oil in with the gas?My Scion burned over a quart in 300 miles when I bought it. HPL EC is a low & slow approachSeems like the piston soak did far better then the EC 30. Another piston soak would be better move I would think.
The B12 soak completely stopped the oil burning on my sons 2005 Ford Escape with 200K miles. Soaked it over a 2 or 3 day period then did an oil change immediately, and another after about 10 miles.I'm gonna try B12 Chemtool and or Kroil on a 2017 Optima 2.4
I did it for about a year but after the oil bottle leaked I gave up on it. I couldn’t see that it made a difference. That is quite the difference. Are these motors good candidates for mixing 2 stroke TCW3 oil in with the gas?
