of course you can go longer than 3000 miles. ford calls for 7500 mile oil changes and some other companies say longer than that. Does that mean you should not use purolator oil filters?
Of course they just want to sell more filters

Filter holding capacity maybe the defining of how long a filter lasts. Thus cleaner engines that produce less contaminates will allow a filter to go longer whereas a dirtier producing engine would require more frequent changes. Determine your particular engines cleanliness and select a OCI.

Totally agree. I change mine every 5-6k miles. Since the general public never know how clean their engines are by removing the crankcase, I play it safe and change it every 5-6k miles (both the oil and filter).
