That does look good. Holes even, no louvers! My understanding is some of those GM engines can produce some pretty high oil pressures, so impressed there are no wavy pleats.

Some of the orange cans that come off those literally look like they've been through the wringer.

this one is an older gen 4 motor. normal flow oil pump, no DOD/AFM. but off of the newer gen 5 LT motors they really tear these new titanium’s up.

from 2001-2019. they’ve been the workhorse for GM and have a spectacular track record. my personal 6.0 is at 236k and it runs like a top even with a decent size cam in it.
I guess the 6.6L has replaced this 6.0L & can be put into a 1 ton dual now I think. I've never heard anything bad about these 6.0L & as far as I know they've only been in single wheel trucks... just an observation.

6.0’s were put in the DRW trucks aswell. the 6.6L has replaced the 6.0 correct.

Yep, the 6.6 is the new 6.0. No variable displacement but does now have direct injection. Still has a cast iron block with aluminum heads. The recommended oil in the 2024 owners manual is Dexos 1 Gen 3 5w30.

You could have doubled your mileage on that filter. It’s the Fram titanium rated for 15 or 20k?? That filter looks like it could handle it.

fleet vehicle and this is an anomaly. most of the time they’re wavy. fleet vehicles get ~6000 mile OCI’s until the transition to HPL is done. they will then get ~12000 mile OCI’s

We have an Express 3500 6.0 dually box truck, believe it's a '17? Runs like a top, except for a couple broken exhaust manifold studs.
the manifold bolts were the achilles heel of the LS family unfortunately. for my personal truck i welded nuts to the broken ones and installed stainless studs instead coated in anti seize.

I purchased some ARP black bolts I've yet to install and for my hillbilly repair, I ran Permatex Ultra Copper RTV along the exhaust manifold against block. It doesn't contain copper, its just copper colored and is for very high exhaust type temps. So far its holding. I'll get a round Tuit one of these days. :D
