Hi everybody,
I need some help, please! I'm getting ready to change the oil in our dad's 2006 Tundra. I going to use Mobil 1. I'm planning on mixing the 0W-40 with EP 0W-20. I have read on here that mixing the two 50/50 will result in a 30 weight. Here is where I need the help, considering the range that a 30 weight covers, where does the 50/50 blend fall? Somewhere in the middle?
I would like to make it on the heavier side of the 30 weight scale. Our dad is an aggressive driver, so, I want to stay on the heavy side, but still remain a 30 weight.
The Tundra says to use 6.5 quarts, but due to the way the dipstick is, I can pour in 7 quarts to get it exactly on the full mark. So, 50/50 would mean 3.5 qts of 0W-40 and 3.5 qts of 0W-20, correct?
To be on the heavy side, what should the ratio be? 4 qts of 0W-40 to 3 qts of 0W-20? Or 4.5 qts of 0W-40 to 2.5 qts of 0W-20?
Your advice and input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
