When I worked at a Package store during college, we would sell one or two bottles of Myer's Jamaican Rum a week. It was about 30% higher price than Bacardi.
Sipping on Siesta Key Spiced Rum tonight. Very smooth and not overly sugary, like some other spiced rums I've tried. Quite nice actually.
Stranahans and lemonade is a good one aka shandy. I'm real partial to Eagle Rare bourbon and rootbeer.

This Myers's Dark is currently on my list to try, along with Brugal Anejo and Goslings Black Seal. This would be more for mixing drinks, not necessarily sipping.
My family likes Blue Chair. Another good liqueur that is marketed as an Irish whiskey is Shanky’s Whip. It reminds me somewhat of a rum. A dark liqueur with caramel and vanilla flavors.
Just tried Goslings - nasty. I much prefer Kraken for mixing drinks.

Yup, Kraken goes really well mixed with some Dr Pepper. I think Kraken calls this Doc Oc, but I call it Dr Kraken.

I used to be a Captain Morgan and Diet Coke, guy. I tried Plantation rum last year, I find it much better than Captain Morgan.
Just got back from the Caribbean and picked up these 2 bottles. Can]t get these in Penna. so I figured I would try them. Bumba is really good. Have not tried the Mount Gay yet.
It's still my go to.
My local Total Wine seems to have both in stock. I'll have to remember to check it out soon.
Yeah, in Pa I am stuck with the state run State stores, that"s what they call them vs ABC, Package stores or privately owned. On my travels if I see a Total Wine or private I usually stop in and acquire what I can't get locally or sometimes I stop in the Nex(Navy) if I visit the kids for their selection.

I don’t know that any rum is good for sipping. Goslings has a blackstrap that has an interesting taste.
For me it’s Cruzan.
Is black strap the same as black seal? I tried Goslings black seal and didn't care for the smell and taste.
Which one? Cruzan also has a black strap version.
Part of the reason I like Kraken is its high alcohol content - good for mixing, but not exactly a sipper. That Siesta Key though is a nice sipper.
Haitian Rum Barbancourt 15 years old. very good Rum. i am going to Boston on a road trip next week and i intend to grab 2 bottles. this is real agricole rum like in Martinique and Guadeloupe, but at low price.
