I just wanted to voice my evaluation of Goodyear Triple Treads after 18K miles. I am not affiliated with Goodyear in any way.
Most recently on Sunday, 4/25/10, I was traveling from NJ to WV on I-76/I-70 W for nearly three hours of driving in torrential rain. My speeds were between 60-90 mph. And ownly once around 85mph did I sense a hovering sensation and slight drift rightwards due to hydroplaning. BTW they are on a 1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited 3.4L V6 2WD. I noticed several sedans drifting left and right who switched on their hazards at speeds around 80mph as I passed them on the left. These tires are incredible when it starts raining.
Another tiime I was traveling west towards PA and I was caught in a snow storm and with 2WD I learned very quick;y how to steer out of fish tails. They survived the 350 mile trek east on 7-10" covered highways that had not been plowed yet. Granted I could ownly safely drive at under 40mph. But more importantly they bight when you need them up hills.
My other set of tires are BFGoodrich All Terrain KOs and they hydroplane at the same highway speeds during downpours.
Excellent all-season tires that I would recomend with confidence.
