I would coat the rim with a good rust preventive paint and just put a tube in the tire....Easiest and least expensive way to guarantee no leaks!:)

I own/run a small engine repair shop for a living. Blown head gaskets on OHV Briggs are a common occurance. Always between the side of the head and the pushrod galley.(replaced more than I can count!) I've had many cusmtomers think their engine is wore out because of a simple headgasket issue...

Ok guys, just to shoot back on topic for a sec about the original concern of the valve....I just cut open the PL24651 off of my 94 f250/351. It has the same relief valve as the OP's filter shows. Pushing on the center rivit opens the relief valve, and letting off, that funky spring easily...

Trans Should be an E4OD (pre-99 version of the 4r100)A bad sensor will definately cause it to do funny things/not shift correct, ect., but it should not cause it to "slip" so to speak. If the pcm detects any trans slippage it will request full line pressure at the trans...causing your hard...

OH...and she continues to drive it back to her mechanic knowing there is almost no oil in it? Sheesh

Pablo...apreciate your input as well. I didnt realize about the viscosity mixup! I'd also be curious about other adds that may not show up...doesnt seem like those ones alone would be sufficient...exspecially in the extreme use these machines get!

Polaris cant void your warrantee for using other branded fluids as long as they meet the recomended specs, which aff does. Your owners manual list the recomended engine oil specs if you use other than polaris. (Dont have mine in front of me right now so i can't point you to the page)
