Understand completely! I can NOT sleep without mine...so called normal breathing just doesn't seem right when I try to sleep without my "puffer".

I always needed afternoon naps before I got mine. Now I can't make myself sleep more than 5 or 6 hours and I am wide awake all day long. Best sleep I have had in a long time.

I used to shift around a lot before I used my CPAP. It took some time to get used to the mask but now I sleep soundly enough that I don't move, as far as I know. I wake up in the same position anyway.

May 7 I am going to talk to a sleep specialist. About a week ago I did the test and have problems.

The only thing I hate with the full face mask which I need because I usually sleep with my mouth open, is that when you are sick and go to cough in the mask. Always fun.

Completely agree! When I first got my APAP machine, I struggled with it. I would often wake up and take the mask off. But I gradually got used to it within a few weeks. One night I went to bed with the mask on and slept thru the night. Now I can't sleep without it.

The wife is very happy because I don't snore anymore.

If anyone is snoring and/or having trouble getting restful sleep - look in to it! I talked my brother into going in for a sleep study. He got his APAP machine and in less than a week he was hooked. His quality of sleep has improved significantly. Sister In Law also thanked me for stopping his snoring.

RW1...

As a spouse, I completely agree...

Wife would get a video to share some time...then fall asleep and snore...snore and jerk violently in her sleep waking me up.

About a week and a half ago I noticed that she stopped breathing, only for a couple of breath cycles.

The bring home test machine showed that she was challenging me for Apnoea durarton, but I'm doing mine intentionally.

Down here, once you've done the test, if you don't follow up with using the machine, your MV insurance and driver's licence are cancelled.

(They've now made it an offence to eat or drink while driving too...it's getting so sucky to be in Oz these days)

Holy cr@p mate that's harsh.

Some people can't get used to them, but I've used mine EVERY night for 21 years. Mine is an S9 with variable pressure and a 14 setting. I've got a big schnoz so I use a Nuance mask with nasal pillows. Works great for me.

Well yeah and my speedo goes to 200mph.

Should the manufacturers make and sell different cars in Oz just because their government doesn't trust them with a Red Bull? : LOL:

Once we have had the sleep study done if we don't get a machine our G.P. can pull our drivers license as well. My doctor made sure I ordered the machine and was following up with the medical appliance place.

They also just made it illegal to eat and drive here, although there is some grace for drinking fluids non-alcoholic in nature so long as the driver isn't distracted.
