I usually drink hot coffee with trail mix when I'm at home, but coffee is not always practical when working outdoors.

I don't eat trail mix. If I want something to drink outside in the summertime, make it iced tea northern style, no sugar.

IMHO, "northern style" would indicate adding sugar, as most iced tea I've had in the past from the US was made without sugar.
Here in Canada, iced tea without sugar is mostly unheard of

I am not much of an Iced tea person, but I always thought that "sweet tea" was southern style.

Here in Florida it is common knowledge that some northern states don't serve sweet tea. I have NY family, they have a hard time getting sweet tea at restaurants.

Trail mix is often eaten while hiking, hence the name. The preferred drink while hiking is water.
