Good morning BITOG folks.

I must say that the 2.4 2AZ-FE engine in my 09' Camry is very smooth running with the Liqui Moly MOS2. I'll keep using it also smile

Anyone else have good experience or bad with it?

It is a bit strange that a company with 'Moly' in it's name sells oils with little to no moly in them.

I have used their moly additive in the past but I'm really not sure if there was any benefit...(I'm not sure there wasn't any benefit either)...

Same here. It's weird that only one of their oils contains moly (and it's advertised on the label that it contains their M0S2) and the rest have zero moly. I tried a can in the Mustang one time and noticed absolutely nothing, expect for turning the oil dark gray.

A lot of engineering studies and also many oil formulators use a lot of moly. It does work.
Idemitsu, Redline, Pennzoil (Ultra 0w40), Schaeffers, Mobil1 Racing Oil, and some I've missed, all use tons of moly.
Usually you see around 80 ppm (low to medium) amounts to pass the Sequence VID part of GF-5, the fuel economy increase (FEI) tests.
Moly doesn't appear to interfere with ZDDP and other additives in oil, so its considered safe to add.

Standing on the outside of the engine, you'll probably never notice a difference. Not observable. Doesn't mean its not making an improvement though.

Thanks for the info. Next fill will be Chevron Supreme 10w30 SN, and some EMBLEM 10w30 HDEO that's from 91' with half can of MOS2

The EMBLEM oil was made in Warren PA

I'm coming up on an oil change soon. Car was down about a quarter of a quart after 4800 miles. Poured in 8 ounces of MMO and car seems much smoother after adding it. No moly in it but something to consider using. I also added some to the fuel at the recommended dosage and didn't notice any benefits. Not expensive and avail at WM.

What leads you to think Pennzoil has a ton of moly? UOAS here show Ultra and Platinum have 50-60ppm, which is typical of many oils, Mobil1 included. If you really want molybdenum, Mazda 0w-20 has around 10x that amount.

Pennzoil conventional as of 2016 in 5w20 has 187 ppm of moly in it.
