I found an older filter during my aunt's garage clean out. I have compared the 1258 with my Motorcraft FL 1A and it looks to have the same hole and threads and same outer gasket size. It is a bit shorter and has a dome end by pass valve. Does anyone know if it will fit my 90' F150 300 6? I'd only use it for a Auto RX run.

Go to the WIX filter site and do a cross reference lookup on that product number it will tell you the thread size and other technical specs. Then do one on your existing filter and compare.

If it's a Wix derivative ..it's a Chevy filter with a 13/16-16 thread.

It's got to be an older filter, been in the garage a good many years. All it says on the box is Napa 1258. Thanks for the help though.

I'm sorry. I didn't catch the NAPA part for some reason. Yes, it's a Chevy filter. A 51258 WIX.
So... it won't fit the old Ford then?

Nope. Older Fords (like -95) are 3/4-16, newer one's 22x1.5M
Oh [censored] then. Thanks Gary. I'll just stick to my FL-1A's at $3+ at Walmart.
