I imagine it is because the Europeans are much more into long drain intervals. I bet the oil costs a pretty penny to.

Most people in the US wouldn't know about it, care about it, let alone appreciate or pay for it. Heck on this board how many wont pay anywhere near retail for what oils we are offered now....and our oils are inexpensive compared to what many Euro oils go for. Having stated that, our oils do a great job IMO for what the vast majority of us ask out of them...at a very good price....again IMO.

If you want a Euro oil, there are many brands that are brought in by various shops and clubs. I am sure you can find what you want for sale here in the USA on the internet

Oil outside US cost a lot more, so they tend to pay slightly more than the already high price for better oil.

You can't expect people to shell out $20 a quart when the competition is as low as $2 for dino and $5 for synthetic.

This turned in about the best UOA I've ever seen on my 2.3 DISI Turbo engine, which is known to kill oil b/c of FD. I'm running GC now but think I will switch to the above. It's really impressive stuff.

You can get GC which is German made on sale at both Pep Boy and AutoZone.

You can get M1 0w-40 European formula right now on sale at Advance Auto Parts.

All these oils are great European oils, btw. The last 2 on sale even.

The 10W-30 oil you mention has a mediocre HTHS of 3.15 while a Redline 10W-30 oil has an HTHS of 3.6.

I thought we got the best grades of oil with 5w20 and 0w20?
