wash polish then wax?

should i wash my blazer then polish it. then put on a coat of wax for best results?

I just finished up a relatives Pontiac Aztek. Since it's a daily driver in rough conditions I don't worry about swirls, therefore, I skip any polishing. I went:

Wash
Clay Bar
One coat Meguire's Cleaner wax (came free with the clay bar)
Eight hours cure time
One coat Collinite 845

Should be good until New Years (fingers crossed)

That's pretty much what I did on both my vehicles a few weeks ago. I used the 476 instead though and it is great stuff.
