Just got my 2nd UOA back from [censored] today. I cut and paste the original UOA that I posted before as well (on the left) to hopefully give an easier look for comparison. I will also post the VOA of my little blend below the two UOA's. I did not get a TBN done on this, but wish I had. I still suspect a coolant leak, I know I have one, but have been concerned if it's getting into the oil. I have found coolant below the truck. I should add that I did put a 1/4 qt make up oil on this OCI, tho I wasn't sure if I needed it, the dipstick in this Nissan is not a lot of fun to read at times, the make up oil was Castrol GTX 10W-30 HM that I had laying around in the garage. I also have removed resonators from the lower half of the airbox to allow more air flow to the box, so I guess it'd qualify as an airbox mod.

Blackstone's comments: You could have a coolant leak, but if you do, it's slight. We found elevated lead and silicon in this sample, and if you hadn't mentioned coolant we would have said silicon shows dirt getting past the air filter. You should still check that, but silicon can sometimes be a sign of coolant, along with potassium and sodium, which we found at very slight levels. The lead shows bearing wear, and whether that's due to
coolant or a dirty air filter, we don't know. Suggest checking air changing the air filter. Then, if these elements are still high next time, we'll know it's coolant.

Thoughts? Comments, Gripes? I am probably going to put off at least for now the remote mount dual oil filter kit, and address the coolant leak first and foremost, as well as run a little seafoam through the engine and fuel system, then dump my current run soon and then do another flush run with something else like ST syn, not sure. Currently I dumped M1 10W-30 HM in my truck. I hesitate to dump it so soon, only 1000 miles into the run, but it would appear it'd be the best thing to do at this point.

Well I guess my question has to do with what ASTM method blackstone uses for coolant check since it indicates that they use the spectral exam for coolant as well. It indicates no coolant on the report, but slightly elevated levels of sodium and potassium from the baseline. I don't believe i have a leak anyplace around the intake hoses, unless the filter is not seated well in the grooves and is allowing unfiltered air to get by. I'll have to double check that, maybe add some vaseline to create a better seal.

I'm confused. I have heard of a VG33E, a VQ30DE, and a VQ35DE, but never a VQ33E. Could there be a typo? What kind of car do you drive?

Mea Culpa

I apologize, I do not know what I was thinking, it is the VG33E, a 2001 Nissan Frontier CC
