Just wondering in the new Toyota owners manuals that require w16 oil does Toyota list other options like 20 weight or even 30 weight oil?

My mother's 2015 4Runner specifics 0w20, but allows to up a grade for towing. They also allow a 5w20, but it says a 0w20 must be used for the following oil change. Does the higher grade need to be 0w30 or will a 5w30 work? Would a 5w20 work all the time? Point being, they seem to leave a lot up in the air.

With the new oil being somewhat hard to find, I imagine they'll have to throw a 0w20 in there.

Is this oil spec for everything or just cars? I am not sure how the car and truck verbiage compares.

My manuel says 0w-20 is a substitute but better MPG with 0w-16 from what I read you can get .5 to 2 mpg more if 0w-16 is used. I can't vouch for it have not changed oil yet I only have 2K on motor

You will gain that maybe going from 20w-50, definitely not from 0w-20.

I miss the 5W20 VS 5W30 posts.
