While having just one child saved us from owning a minivan, I did make other lifestyle changes; I cut back on my car club responsibilities and quit instructing at HPDEs until he was old enough to accompany me. He helped me upgrade the 1975 2002 he drove through most of high school. I'm proud to say that I only missed a handful of his baseball, basketball, and soccer games. Until he went to college we went on a lot of father-son trips- F1, Indy, and NASCAR races, NCAA basketball tournaments, bowl games, and even some Premier League exhibition games. It was a wonderful season, and I don't regret putting a few hobbies and projects on hold to enjoy it.
