87 Mustang GT I sold to fund the del sol. I love the del sol but its no 5.0 Mustang. I also gave away my 89 Probe GT to my brother. Amazingly quick car that got 35mpg easily. Best car Ive ever owned. Never help out a loved one like that again! That car was destroyed.

This is why I love the guy!

Cars have become a tool in my life. I love too many other larger things. I maintain the cars. But it's not an obsession and I have no regrets on not keeping a car. I keep a small regret pile. Life is better that way.

1986 SAAB 900S. Traded it in when I bought my '95 Maxima (which was the best car I've ever owned).

The car was excellent in snow & ice, could hold a lot of stuff in the hatchback and got good mpg. Only downside was that it, like most cars of that era, was lacking in HP - a bit slow even with a MT.

In truth there's only a few previous cars I wouldn't mind still having around (Fiero, Mustang II, old LeSabre beater).

My 1970 Chrysler Newyorker, 1971 Mercury cougar, 1973 ford gran torino, 1969 pontiac catalina, 1992 camaro, 1979 f-150, 1985 buick le-sabre, 1973 ford maverick. i wish i still had any one of these vehicles.

1949 Mercury coupe. I rebuilt the flat head when I was 19. Ran perfect and got 25 MPG. Was mildly customized in the 60's and had a well done red and white vinyl interior. Loved the glass tail light and turn signal lenses. They always looked new. The dash was awesome, and I loved the starter button on the dash.

Thanks for reminding about my 1st sports car the Mark III. So simple to raise the hood (bonnet) sit on the tire and fiddle w/ the engine! What a turning radius those baby's had. "Soul" no kidding.

I had a Spit, and thought it was junk compared to my MGB.
Junk engine, as used in the later MG Midgets, which were really rebadged AH Sprites.
Actually made money on the resale, though.
The car had the factory steel hardtop, along with the soft top, which was apparently worth $$$.

1985 Mazda RX7 GSL-SE. 1st gen body with fuel injected 1.3 liter rotary.

Also bought a Fiat 850 roadster as a project in high but my parents wouldn't let me keep it so I had to return it to the guy that sold it to me. He cut it up with an air powered reciprocating saw and threw it in the trash over a six month period.

Two:
1988 M6- I fitted it with a Dinan Chip and a Fahey track pipe; it made @310 bhp at the crank. I only lost one Stoplight Grand Prix, and that was to a 930 Turbo. It won its class at the 1994 BMW CCA Oktoberfest and also finished on the podium at a BMW/Porsche Solo 1 event at Memphis Motorsport Park...

1987 535is- My first "modern" BMW. Very reliable and lots of fun to drive. I sold it to buy the M6. Last I heard it was on it's 6th or 7th owner and was still going strong with 350K on the clock.

I just pee'd myself.

My 73 MGB. Loved that car and despite the reputation of Lucas electrics I put well over 150,000 miles on it. Never had any electrical issues. One clutch, three tops and countless qt's of 20w-50 Wolfs Head. (My employer was a dealer for Wolfs Head I got the oil very cheap.) Changed the oil every couple of months probably with less than 1500 miles. Changed the oil in the gearbox three or for times a year. Ah the enthusiasm of youth.

Hated parting with my 64 Fairlane two door. Think Thunderbolt. Had a stroked small block in that and it ran like a scalded dog. Needed a pickup truck bad though.

...slobbering on my keyboard w/ that M6... I remember when that was THE car in its market.

2 of mine are my S2000 and 323is. Honda never did much for me...NSX not withstanding, I always thought of them as wonderful appliances. Then the S2k came around and I fell in love. What Triumph/MG/Healey should have been today. Got relo'd to the West Coast for a few years and that was my excuse to get one. Sold to make room for the Elise. It is 98% of the Lotus w/ Honda build quality and reliability and the best shift feel I have ever experienced.

BMW 323is My first nice new car. Sport package and I added some "M" goodies, upgraded wheels and tires, installed a VDO gauge package. I bought the clear lights on a business trip to Europe (explain to Customs why that is in your luggage..) before they were "in". Did some HPDE's w/ her. Neutral and forgiving (the S2k was NOT)

It wasn't technically mine, but my father had a 1990 Honda Civic. No DX, EX whatever, just a civic. As base as they come. Only AC. 4 speed manual. Drove it for 220K miles, and then I got to drive it for a summer. Vinyl seats, 3000 rpms at 60, didn't bother me. Begged my parents not to sell it. It would probably have a different engine it it, a B-series, or maybe a K-series if I'd had my way, but I would probably still have it.
