Songs you find creepy

"Lola" by the Kinks

any song celebrating a girl's 16th birthday transforming her into a fair game woman, such as

"You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine" by Johnny Burnette

"Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" by Neil Sedaka

"Sixteen candles" by Johnny Maestro and the Crests

Frankie Teardrop by Suicide is very creepy. The song and the lyrics.

I'll Follow you Into The Dark by Death Cab for Cutie

Daughter by Pearl Jam

...or "One" by Metallica. Some folks (James Hetfield, etc) have quite the imagination when it comes to lyrics. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) is another one.
I just think of the Metallica stuff as deep lyrics, not creepy. James is a hell of a lyricist. Sanitarium, Fade to Black, Lepper Messiah, Ronnie, King Nothing...etc.

The school shooting song, where the carnie-type "happy" melody stands in stark contrast with the extremely dark lyrics, IMHO, that's creepy as hell.

JMHO however.

Oh yeah, that's more what I meant, "deep" (off-topic for this thread, I know). Some of these guys, contrary to what some might think of "rock stars", are smarter than many think.

Agreed... Made me think of this one someone showed me a while back.

This one by Tom Waits is intentionally and successfully creepy. Either the narrator or the subject could be a lot of folks from BITOG. :D

Enter Sandman by Metallica

Also "One" - even worse than 'locked in syndrome'. The video makes it worse.

I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or a dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me
Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live
Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, help me
Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell
Landmine has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

That was actually written by Tears for Fears, but Gary Jules version is definitely darker (haunting ?), almost like he transposed it from a major key to a minor key.
Yes sir, saw tears for fears early on .
Here's the original. Quite the contrast.

Lyrics

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head, I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles, it's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
"Hello, teacher! Tell me, what's my lesson?"
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles, it's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world
