Shops not willing to do hard work?

When I was fixing diesel generators, 90% of the time it was either a PM or easy in and out repair. Then there was the 10% where a coolant leak turned into a radiator replacement which entailed a 40 foot generator trailer rental set or an engine overhaul that took two weeks.
It just happens. I learned to roll with it.

It has become increasingly difficult if not impossible to become familiar with all makes and models, personally I do Euro cars and avoid most Japanese and US if its anything out of the ordinary. Its not about not being able to do the job its about doing a good job in a reasonable amount of time.


Well said!!! I'm the polar opposite on "what" I work on.....Asian & Domestic only, Not that I have anything against European cars, I just don't have the familiarity with them for it to be beneficial to Me or the Customer.

Though I have & do work on Jaguar's & have become very familiar with them over the years. Euro mechanics "generally" want nothing to do with them.
I also have a soft spot for Triumph's (Cars).
