Just have your old Pee Chee handy for these conversions.

I have no problem adding km to signs but signs should be clear and simple so they can be read at a glance.

The US isn't in the process of converting to the metric system any longer. Companies are free to sell soda by the liter or spaghetti in 500g boxes they just have to include the equivalent Imperial values on the packaging.
