I have one of those hand pumps & have used it to drain/refill AT's. It would work fine to draw a sample. I'd be concerned about cross contamination tho, if u used it for any other lubes.

Wade, an oil drain valve would be your best friend. A syringe with thin tubing would work as well.

i never thought of a syringe, I wasn't sure how much oil is needed for the sample to send in.

yes i also thought about the contamination of oil in the pump and even cleaning it out might leave trace elements of cleaning fluid.
I guess a syringe might be good.
I'm assuming a person can buy just a syringe at a drug store without a needle.
